The library at St. Peter’s, initiated by the Women’s Guild, is a wonderful resource for devotions, Christian education ideas, information about religion, Bibles, maps, Christian and American history, poetry, novels with an inspirational approach, and works of fiction which have been donated to our library. The children’s library includes a wonderful collection of books suitable for a wide range of ages. On the second Sunday of each month in the 1980s, Dorris Baumann (Guild library committee member) gave awards to children for having read a certain number of books. As an example of the success of this program, between 1984 and 1986 the children read 1500 books. We are blessed at St. Peter’s to have two great library collections for educational purposes as well as for reading enjoyment. If you are looking for something good to read, look around the shelves.
